I have read in a article that during the preparation of calcium phosphate nanoparticles if we heat the mother solutions i.e Calcium nitrate pentahydrate and ammonium hydrogen phosphate at 80'C, then we obtain hydroxyapatite nanoparticles but if we don't heat then we obtain ACP (amorphous calcium phosphate particles.
Can anybody comment?
Materials were analyzed in the supplied condition and after thermal treatment to 1,000°C in air for 60 minutes (min) to distinguish the characteristic peaks of the calcium phosphates (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4260657/).

It is advisable to heat the mixture of precursor solutions while preparing Hap nps. Increase in reaction temperature facilitates faster reaction and increases the crystal growth kinetics of Hap. Crystallinity is an important determinant influencing the mechanical properties of Hap nps.

Do you want to perform the synthesize of stoechiometric or non-stoechiometric HAP. The other key point is the pH ( do you check it ?)

I think you are right because i also observed that phenomenon. By heating the precursor solutions, HAP-NP's are obtained and without heating precursor solutions, amorphous calcium particles (ACP) are obtained.

I want to prepare stoechiometric HAP. What may be the role of pH in synthesis of HAP-NP's?
pH stability range of stoichiometric HAp in aqueous solutions at 25°C is about 9.5–12. Below 9 you can get Calcium-deficient hydroxyapatite, Octacalcium phosphate, Dicalcium phosphate dehydrate and at very low pH, Monocalcium phosphate monohydrate.
