I am still confused about the upper bands in most of my western blots, is it aggregated protein or high molecular weight?
As per my experience the upper bands are not like aggregated proteins. The result is good.
Swarnab Sengupta Thank you, appreciate your help.
Aggregate bands are usually a bit fuzzy in appearance. Yours are very sharp and well defined. I agree with Swarnab Sengupta , I do not think these are aggregates.
No it is no aggregate. Somewaht more likely is that your antibody is not very specific to your protein of interest.
Hello, Recently, I'm having this strange dark area in the upper part of my western blot. And it happened many times in the same area exactly!! I think it is a running problem, but I can't...

This is the upper part of a western blot membrane, and as you can see there are some proteins that did not enter the separating gel. Does this affect the level of protein expression? I mean is...

I got these smeared bands quite often lately. We typically run the gel at 140V with a 10-12% gel and do a wet transfer at 220 mA for 1.5 hr in cold room. We also noticed some dirty spots/dots (see...
