I am working on the accumulation of seven metals in a single species collected from a single site. I want to use both BCF and MPI, can anyone tell me if it is ok to do so? Also, can anyone tell me what I could deduce from the BCF? I know that from MPI, I can get information about the total metal load in individual organs, but I don't know about the BCF.

It would not be quite an accurate study to work out Bioconcentration factor and Metal pollution index at the same time in single species collected from a single site. Single species collected preferably across a recognizable or identified pollution gradient would give a more accurate depiction.
I agree with Azubuike Chukwuka. To add to this, BCF is a ratio of metal concentration in organism to metal concentration is substrate. For e.g. BCF helps to measure a plant's ability to accumulate metals from soil.
BCF is mostly used to determined the biomagnification of pollutants in organisms, particularly aquatic. I think and quite sure the correct method of determination of pollutants uptake by plants is by the Transfer factor (TF) and the Translocation index or factor. I stand corrected!!!!!!!!
