Usually VAM-Vesicular arbuscular Mycorrhiza have two distinct structure; viz, Vesicle and arbuscle. The arbuscle have definitive spiked structure (search google image for more clarification) looks like brush. But, the second picture herewith looks like vesicle. But, the vesicle looks like single vacule. The blue pigment is here within the vacules may be confusing. For more clarification, try to isolate these structure and try another monoculture plate from this root matrix.
once the fungi associates with plant root it forms mycelial network - vesicles (bladder-like structures) and arbuscules (branched tree-like structure). so its not an AMF associated root.
