I have been through the web pages of RSC, ACS, and Elsevier, looking for information about the use of AI for translation, but I didn't find an answer. Is it allowed to use AI for translation? Once the data discussion and conclusions has been written in a mother language, how ethic (and permitted) is to use the AI to translate to English?

This is more my opinion and not a direct answer about journal policies on using AI for translation.
I think there is nothing unethical about using AI to assist in writing scientific papers, as long as the core research - the ideas, data, and conclusions - is the original work of the authors. AI translation and writing tools are simply the next logical step beyond spell checkers and grammar aids. They help level the playing field for non-native English speakers, and the intent is still to share quality, original science. Allowing these tools fosters the process of expanding the frontiers of knowledge, which is pretty much the whole point of scientific publishing. As long as AI is not altering the substance of the work, I think there is no ethical issue with using it to make research more accessible.
You can use it, but please be aware that you are still fully responsible for the final product. Drastic example: if you use it to translate medical information into English and this results in a mistreatment of a patient somewhere else and you get sued, you can't blame it on AI, you will be treated with full responsibility in most countries.
I don't know if translation with AI is already a perfect tool. My experience with AI is like the images created with AI that one detects errors (people with many fingers or things that the AI has not yet mastered), in my case it gave me a quote from an article that I searched for a lot, and I couldn't find it and the researchers who knew about the subject, they never heard that publication, until I came to the conclusion that it did not exist and that the AI mixed authors of a work with what I was looking for. Maybe for language, AI is better but I imagine it serves as a "preliminary" translation that must be reviewed to correct all errors (translated by Google)
