Lyophilization of RNA is included among the options for sending RNA samples to a service provider. I was unable to find enough literature on the suitability of sending RNA as a lyophilized sample for RNA-Seq. The RNAstable kit is not an option because it is difficult to find and it is not the economical option for us. Not even dry ice because the carriers do not guarantee that the samples will be refrigerated during the trip.

Has anyone shipped lyophilized RNA at room temperature to commercial sequencing companies? Please share your experiences. Thanks.
