Which are the European universities awarding DSc/ ScD in health sciences- please can you share the information about it.
In USA there seems to be a confusion as to both PhD and ScD are equivalent. Further, there are universities in the US which are not accredited!!!. When you start inquiring about these degrees the foremost thing they are interested in is mode of payment, that is even before we decide upon the course :)

Yes Dr.Sci. is much superior than PhD.
In Bulgaria: PhD is a degree which can be obtained after at least several publications in refereed journal on a given subject, and after a defense of PhD thesis on this same theme. It takes usually 3-4 years of work.
Dr.Sc. is a next level degree, requiring at least >50 publications in refereed journals with IF and in international conference proceedings, hundreds citations and a more serious thesis - monograph on the theme of the publications.
