I am trying to design an RT-qPCR primer for Angiotensin II in cats.
Angiotensin II is a peptide (8 aa) cleaved from angiotensinogen.
The sequence coding for Angiotensin II is simply the first 24 bp of the angiotensinogen sequence.

Yes, it does! It makes a lot of sense now that you say it!
Note that the first 33 coding amino acids of angiotensinogen are the signal peptide, which is cleaved off during the secretion process. AngiotensinII is the first 8 amino acids following that.
But, for RT-qPCR this is irrelevant :)
