Can anyone explain the interpretation of time of addition assay? can we conclude if certain antiviral that we are tested can reduce viral load/titer on certain period of time is because of that compound work on certain viral infectious cycle (eg, the most decreasing viral load on 6 hour post infection group it means that compound is work on RNA synthesis cycle)? how can we explain that the decreasing effect is not because the duration of virus get the compound? i read multiple publication that all cells and supernatant that has been treated are harvested on 24 hour post infection (on dengue virus), it means that group that given compound 0-hour post infection get longer treatment vs group that given compound 12-hour post infection.
