At present, AI technology is reducing the human tasks and replacing the persons from their workplace. In future, it may completely replace the human in all the sectors.
It is unlikely that artificial intelligence (AI) will become seriously dangerous to the existence of human civilization. However, this possibility cannot be ruled out if in the future too many computerized management and decision-making systems are entrusted to artificial intelligence instead of man. However, in my opinion, catastrophic visions known from many science fiction novels and movies, such as the film series about the "Terminator" should not be realized in the future. It is important that the development of applications of artificial intelligence does not escape from the full control of man, i.e. that at least part of this control is not entrusted to artificial intelligence.
Sujon Mia AI is made huge changes in human life, that's for sure. And, day by day AI putting impact also in human life but, i think that it's early to say that AI will replace the human effort, may be partially possible.
Yes, they could be dangerous just like they make robots in the military to harm a human. But I think it is soon to judge how AI will influence our life in the future.
The most important thing is that they really don't have a choice like a human, they are programmed to do something (even more accurate than humans in most cases). We sure can make robots to restrict or harm people but that would either be a mistake in engineering or act of aggression by a human against other humans by a robot (just like a gun).
It is possible, but it could be good too. I mean, AI can enhance quality of life in several contexts like education, healthcare, social communication, among others.
Every inventions has it's positive and negative impacts. Misuse of AI could be harmful for human. I hope that below articles will help you to understand the impacts of AI in our life:
Using AI we are trying to model human intelligence to machines. Though in tasks like recognition, classification, etc. AI can match human efficiency, there are many tasks in which humans are far better. Some examples are smell, taste, touch, emotions, etc. We are the creators of AI, and we are trying to improve it but it doesn't mean AI will take over humans. We are still not able to create explainable models using machine learning.
When machines and automation came to industry people worried about losing jobs. But we humans created jobs as well. So even if some great advancement in AI happens in the future, we will find a way out to invent something new.
So no point of worrying about this, Instead we should be prepared to live in an AI-powered future. Cheers!
It all depends on us. We are the ones who decide which application to choose
and which AI architecture to create.
What worries me the most is evolutionary AI. Creating a construct that can forever evolve with little to no control. Such a construct could be very detrimental indeed to civilisation because in the worst case scenario, in the near or far future, such intelligence could be a threat to our society if no boundaries are set. Machines could gain true autonomy and act as they please.
So AI is not the problem. We are the problems. AI will not destroy humanity. Humans will destroy humanity by the choice they make at every step of our societal evolution.
This is an extremely naive statement. It has been thought so many times before. This was thought every time the functional level of technical systems increased. But when some human functions were transferred to technical systems, it immediately became clear that the person still has a lot of work to do, even more than before. But this work consists in the implementation of functions that were not transferred to technical systems, most of which were not previously known or realized at all. For example, when they invented the loom, they also thought that the work would disappear so quickly. But now he sits at a computer and develops new types of fabrics for programmable looms. I could say a lot more about this, but I won't say it because it violates RG's ethical principles
Hi Sujon, from my point of view, as also said above, there is the power of the human to control the AI, which should be done. Without it see the example of the Tay-Bot from Microsoft in 2016. I think we need rules and restrictions to what belongs to development of AI, from the governments and a general guideline for all. At the moment the industry is developing AI on the front line, but mostly with one goal: maximize profit. Of course there are other small branches e.g. in medicine etc. but they are really small at the moment. As long as there is no regulation on how the AI has to be developed, I think, it might go the wrong way to be dangerous for humans in the end. A lot of what I am saying is the thought of Amy Webb in her Book "The Big Nine: How the Tech Titans and Their Thinking Machines Could Warp Humanity" Hope I can contribute with that :-)
AI is a useful tool to understand and model various data-driven scenarios in the modern world. It is essential to develop as a human race. It is true that in many applications, AI will make better decisions than a human. Hence, there will be an issue in maintaining old jobs and systems as before. Therefore, rather than seeing this as a danger, we should update our education systems and job markets to accept and evolve with development.
First of all, man himself is the most dangerous for our civilization. In the second place, everything that people do is dangerous for human civilization. High technologies are particularly dangerous: artificial intelligence, nuclear technologies, chemistry, genetic engineering, global information and financial technologies
It only depends on the man. Whether the development of artificial intelligence can threaten human existence in the future depends on whether, as part of improving artificial intelligence and attempting to create in the future something that can be described as artificial consciousness, this whole process will always be under human control or it may escape this control. . Man has an interesting need to create perfect artificial intelligence with elements of artificial awareness and at the same time a cybernetic being, autonomous robots that will incorporate these advanced technologies. It is important that this need does not outweigh the optimal, safe for human applications in the future of constantly improved artificial intelligence. In my opinion, the catastrophic visions presented in science fiction novels and films, such as the film series "Terminator" should not come true in the future. I believe that the development of artificial intelligence should not get out of human control to such an extent. But this is just my subjective assessment of the divagations regarding the development and applications of artificial intelligence technologies in the future.
AI is human controlled and developed systems cannot go beyond human beings. Therefore, so long us we have laws that govern its development and use in order to avoid misuse then it is not at all dangerous for existence of human civilization.
in my opinion as long as proper protocols standards guidlines and policies are set and implemented for AI development and usage. It will not cause any problem in the civilization instead it will only help us to progress for better in the future.
It depends on how the AI is used in an application. AI can be used to assist humans rather than replace them to control the job reduction. Above all, AI must be used for constructive purposes rather than destructive, which is obviously dangerous to the human civilization.
The degree of intelligence that we can give to these AI machines is entirely in our control. However, if intelligence is something that can be improved with unsupervision, then it is a bit serious as these AI machines will start to do better. But it is still possible to avoid this problem. The assistance is what needs to be improved as it will lead to higher productivity.
