Install of GATK (http://www.broadinstitute.org/gatk/) and SamTools (http://samtools.sourceforge.net/) on a MAC OS X?

I have a PhD student that is trying to install it but I am really busy with grant writing and have no time this week. Our question is, is there a MAC OS X executable? Or do we have to download Xcode (which is very slow in South Africa, due to its 1Gb size) and compile it

On sourceforge, there is only source code for SamTools, so yes, you would need XCode to compile it. I've never seen Samtools in any form of pre-built binary, for any platform.

GATK should be ready to run on OS X since it is Java-based.
