Hello everyone,
I'm a student in Heritage and I'm curently doing my traineeship in the science faculty of Toulouse where I inventory a lot of taxidermy.
I encounter difficulties to identify some of the animals and require your help.
I found this little one and really can't find anything about him, tho I'm sure I already seen something like that.
I'm thinking about some kind of sloth because of the hands, but it looks like a monkey because of the tail...
Dimentions : 24cm long x 9cm large x 10cm high

It looks like a arboreal ant-eater cfr. Tamandua tetradactyla. The pelt colouring of ancient stuffed mammals is not indicative.
Cyclopes didactylus for sure as it lives here near me, in Amazonia. Best wishes
This is a silky anteater, Cyclopes didactylus. This species is the smallest of all anteaters. There is, here in Brazil, a project that is working with this little and amazing animal (http://tamandua.org/2016/projetos.html).
