In 6th pay commision this is first time put almost same which is not good for progress as well differentiate both cadres in a proper way... Earlier in each pay commision it was kept different..pl put your view..(applicable in India only)

Upto 6th pay commission there are Asstt, Associate & Professors which was maintained the quality to go to next, now people are thinking that we will get the grade no problem not post. By that way quality is deteriorated. In 7th pay commission there is need to seperate them Associate & Professor.
