In the literature, some part of the articles, regarding the topic about the level of ligation of the inferior mesenteric artery in oncological operations of the sigmoid colon and rectum, suggests the fact that the high level of ligation is accompanied by reduction of the innervation and the perfusion of the anastomosis. On the other hand, the low ligation is not related to worse oncological results.
