Any academic research needs a sound hypothesis, proper methodology, mindful statistical analysis, rational and logical interpretation leading to a satisfying conclusion. All the above individuals have significant contribution towards a meaningful whole.
But in spite of that, many researcher admits that a good and sound methodology alone has the most significant influence to the entire research.

Indubitably, the research method has a great bearing on the outcome of a given research. The procedures adopted by the researcher for testing a targeted hypothesis are essential sign posts guiding the researcher towards the expected outcome. In point of fact, a well designed, systematic research method enables the researcher to reasonably describe an abstract and sometimes complex issue with clarity.
Good hypothesis for a required research problem following a valid research methodology analyzed by a suitable statistical analysis supported by valid arguments probably gives useful conclusions.

In molecular biology the development of new technology was of paramount importance to solve many problems. Few examples: cloning of genes, transgenesis, sequencing of DNA and proteins, Mass spectrometry, PCR…. However these are tools to solve problems and we should avoid to be only methods oriented instead of problem oriented.
The steps to define and carry out correct scientific research have been known since the time of Galilei.
The busillis is not in the methodology, but in what is research and in who carries out the research.
Only the Galilean method defines research.
Everything else is boring.
Good methodology is the shortest path to research success. Often, researchers focus on the task, without attracting the attention of colleagues to the fact that the method of solution was chosen is non-trivial. Even more often, researchers use a methodology published as part of a study of another object, without referring to the source of method.
Using someone else's results without a citation is an obvious plagiarism, but using someone else's innovative methods for own objects is a common practice ...
