Taxol (generic name paclitaxel) is an alkaloid obtained from bark of Taxus brevifolia and Taxus baccata is used for the treatment of ovarian, breast, lung, gastroesophageal, endometrial, cervical, prostate, and head and neck cancers as well as Kaposi's sarcoma. There is no strong and convincing evidence from human trials that herbal remedies can treat, prevent or cure any type of cancer. Some of the plant used in traditional medicine systems may help enhance longevity, reduce side effects, and help to prevent cancer coming back, especially when taken in combination with conventional treatment as shown by some clinical studies. Herbal medicine however are used as complementary and alternative therapies for people with cancer.
Herbal medicine was the epicenter of humans' health and well being for a very long time. Herbs are very closely connected to human life and they have had a powerful influence on their constitution, diet, and physical/mental health enormously. Soulful healing by the aid of herbs is more meaningful because plant medicine healing our body is a part of nature , and therefore, a part of our whole being. What is preventing people from benefiting from a full fledged application of herbal medicine is their lack of knowledge about the way plants can transform their health and their life.As you have astutely observed, illnesses like cancer may be best cured by special herbs because plants can create empowerment within our body and soul helping us cope with the disease more understandingly by allowing a swifter passage for greater healing to be made when chemical medicine has already failed.
The main important factors closely linked with development of cancer are
1. Genetic pre-disposition,
2. Lifestyle, particularly deviation from ideal lifestyle
(Like intake of non foods, improper foods, chemicals at different names and combinations, disturbance of body clock, lack of proper exercise and burning of calories etc.),
3. Living in Polluted environment,
4. Exposure to electromagnetic radiations (direct or indirect) etc.
Prevention of cancer is rather easy than cure of it.
But people do not want to check attraction of the said components and want cure in place of prevention of cancer like all other diseases.
For cancer, cure is not easy after it reaches a certain stage.
The cut-burn-poisoning treatment of modern medicine are not so effective and it is also very costly.
Herbs can assist prevention of cancer, can reduce its spread, but so far I understand, it can not cure cancer after a certain stage.
