I thought of taking the log of the numbers as you said, but I have the fear that it will not be truly reflected in the results since it is not a comparison between two countries where taking the log for each country reduces the figures by the same rate and the difference will still be maintained. The case I was referring to was actually the Corruption Perception Index (CPI) of my country and is that high. So if for examples I want to examine the effect of CPI on direct foreign investment for a number of years in my country using the log ,for example, in base 10, a CPI of 135 is about 2.13. Since the results is not interpreted in relation to another country will the interpretation be correct from the use of the logged figure.
