Dear Professionals in Learning and Development,

I am pleased to invite you to participate in a significant doctoral research study at University of Arizona Global Campus, dedicated to exploring Virtual Communities of Practice (VCoPs) design and implementation within learning and development. This qualitative Delphi study seeks to operationalize and integrate key constructs – domain (knowledge and expertise area), community (group dynamics and interaction), and practice (application of skills and knowledge) – within VCoPs. In doing so, the study will also examine how these constructs are influenced by and align with various learning theories, such as social constructivism and situated learning, underscoring their relevance in post-pandemic remote and hybrid work environments.

Your participation will involve a series of surveys and discussions aimed at identifying and refining best practices for VCoP design and implementation. This process is crucial for developing a comprehensive understanding of how VCoPs can enhance organizational learning and development.

Participant Criteria

Interested participants should meet a minimum of four of the following five criteria:

1. A minimum of 2 years of experience in learning and development.

2. At least three distinct experiences overseeing VCoP implementation in development programs.

3. Demonstrated success in designing and implementing VCoPs, evidenced by performance metrics or employee satisfaction data.

4. Contributions to the field, such as published academic papers, conference presentations, or seminar participation.

5. Commitment to engage in the entire study process.

Your insights will be invaluable in shaping effective VCoP strategies that can profoundly impact organizational learning and development. Please contact me at your earliest convenience if you meet these criteria and are interested in participating.

Sincerely,

Rick Lee
