Can yeasts produce bubbles in the catalase test?
Hi there,
Can't tell if cells are bubbling in the catalase assay but yeast is able of producing catalase... Article Catalase activity is stimulated by H2O2 in rich culture medi...
Yeast does give a positive result for the catalase test.
Wild type yeasts have catalase so unless you are specifically using a catalase deficient mutant it would give a positive result in that test.
