Some sources indicate that after the onset of clinical symptoms (presumably, this would include prodromal symptoms), rabies postexposure prophylaxis (PEP) is of no benefit to the patient, and that it is too late for treatment. Other sources indicate that once neurological symptoms appear, it is too late for PEP. How do prodromal symptoms fit into PEP protocols? Thank you.
