Can anyone help me? I would like to know where can I find information about strike slip fault direction for earthquake observed on K-NET (Kyoshin network) seismograph network in JAPAN?
I confirm that all information related to the seismic events are provided in this site unless the information related to fault direction for earthquake...
Ideally surface traces of mapped faults should help. Try to see if active faults are mapped in the region that you are working on. Then put the focal mechanism solutions of earthquakes on that map, and correlate them. FMS will always give two planes, and you have to decide which one will be the fault plane. This could be done easily by using the known fault traces of the active faults or you may have to trace one, if not traced previously.
