For those who has an experience about the fungal growth and storage,
The problem is that the isolates remain in customs without storage during the mentioned period and it takes long before they understand the importance for storing them in refrigerator.
I am in a big need of these isolates but i do not know whether they will be viable and perfect for my experiments or not ?
I think there are no problems, you may try, if you have time to wait, to pass it to a culture medium richer in nutrients to "awaken" your isolate
Provided the cultures were not exposed meanwhile to high temperatures (above 35-40°C ) I expect they still should be viable. I would propose transferring 5x5mm pieces and isolated sclerotia (if there are some) to fresh medium.
Yes . for example, the viability of the fungus on dried onion or garlic bulbs remans for long time. You can directly move the fungal structures onto PDA.

I think they are viable, but if they do not have any growth after transferring of new media, add some fresh liquid cold media on old cultures and keep them in incubator.

Dear colleague,
In addition to refrigeration, a good way to preserve fungi is to simply cut pieces of a fresh colony and introduce them in a glass tube or cryotube with sterile water.Tubes must be closed tightly to avoid contamination. With this simple method many fungi can survive for years.
