I would like to amplify 4 kb fragment of gene of interest. In order to do so I am little bit confused as to whether I should go for normal Taq DNA pol or some thing else. My point is, will normal Taq DNA pol be able to amplify if in case I increase the time of elongation or extension time in three step PCR. Any suggestion in this regard in most welcome.

I amplified up to 8kb both with Takara Taq Pol. and GLX Primestar PFU.
The choice depends on what you need to do with the template.
Generally elogation time is related to the enxyme and it is reported in the user manual in term of minute/kb (Ex. 4min. for 4kb)and modification of the parameters could procude ascpecifc amplification.
Phusion HiFi from Thermofisher is good as well, and it is super fast, 30seg/kb from genomic DNA, and 15 seg/kb from plasmid.
