I have synthesized TiO2 thin film with exposed {001} facets on Ti-substarte by hydrothermal technique. I am proposing that because TiO2/Ti films are exposed with {001} facets, so that's why the photo catalytic activity is enhanced. Will the substrate Ti also have any role in the enhanced photo catalysis?.
If yes please answer me with references.
If the Ti/TiO2 perimeter interface is exposed to the gas phase, it may enhance catalytic activity and/or selectivity. Please have a look at http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/S0167-5729(02)00100-0.
