For the digestion of plant samples, the reagents were hydrogen peroxide (H2O2, 30% Baker analyzed), concentrated HNO3, and concentrated hydrofluoric acid (HF, 48% Baker analyzed). For the determination by ICP‐MS, all the samples were diluted two times to obtain solutions containing 2.5% (v/v) of acid. For details please follow the instruction manual of your ICPMS.
For open digestion, you can take 0.5 g of sample and 2:1ratio of nitric acid and perchloric acid. For microwave digestion, you can use 8mL of nitric acid and 2 mL of hydrogen peroxide. After digestion, you can prepare your sample simply by filtering with 0.2 -micron syringe filter paper. Note you have to convert your sample into ppt because ICP-MS analyze the sample in ppt.
