Not only do you raise an interesting and timely question, but you also provide us with good, even excellent thought.

1. Like you, I also think that a big, if not the biggest, mistake  in the history of science (committed by many researchers) was, and still is, relying on untested and unproven flawed myth (i.e. the Earth is static; the geocentric theory; the creationistic theory) for understanding the reality about nature.

2. Many great researchers in the history of science had to endure huge pain, suffering and humiliating struggles during 16th and early 17th century for exposing such mistakes.  Galileo and Giordano Bruno are but two example of those who were subject to  suffering and humiliating just because they were interested in searching for the unknown, not in relying on untested and unproven theories.  

3. Darwin (1872/1962, p, 421) once remarked that " great is the power of steady misrepresentation; but the history of science shows that fortunately this power does not long endure.  Unfortunately, this Darwin's  wise idea is not always the case. It suffices to say that, for example, geocentric theory was well and alive for many centuries and that creationistic theory still continues well and alive.

4 ) Another mistake in the history of science is to think that science and education are costly, and forget that their alternative, ignorance, is much more costly. As Piaget once remarked, only education and science can save societies and countries from possible collapse, be it violent or gradual.

5). Another mistake committed by several researchers consists in putting trivial questions (e.g., Does pupils' socio-economic status influence their achievement and academic success?) instead of challenging questions. As C. S. Pierce once remarked, science whatever progresses when one raises "irritating" questions, that is, questions whose response leads us to the understanding of the unknown   or, say, "the book of the universe".

6) Another mistake committed by researchers, mainly in the field of social sciences, consists in testing what is untestable, because the hypotheses to be tested are true by definition, and thus they are not subject to falsification. Consider the case of a Master student who wants to perform a research  to show, for example, that Piagetian formal operations appear later in development than Piagetian concrete operations. As formal operations are operations upon concrete operations, then it is true by definition that the former has necessarily to appear after the latter. So, to perform such a research would be a pure waste of time. Psychology is full of studies aimed at testing what is untestable because it is true by definition.  As Wittgenstein  once cogently remarked, where there  is no place for doubt, certainty does not make any sense either, Said  differently, we, scientists, often forget that we should be first,  say, students of logic and  only after that students of nature.

            Thank you for your kind support.  Mankind learned a valuable lesson form the History of science. We are doomed to repeat it (and have to endure divesting consequences of the mistake), if we don’t learn from it or forget it.

            Any scientific or research effort would be diverted into a wrong path, if it started relying on untested or unproven axiom and in the seed axiom is flawed. The unproven belief “the Earth is static” was the seed axiom at the root of the geocentric paradox, which evolved for nearly 1500 years.

              If the research efforts are invested in the wrong path for expanding the BoK (Body of Knowledge) by adding more and more pieces of knowledge (e.g. observations of epicycles, concepts and theories to explain or justify the epicycles), it results in flawed paradoxical paradigm (i.e. fundamentally altered perception of reality) and deeply entrenched conventional wisdom (that is in clear contradiction to the objective reality – heliocentric model) or commonsense.

            In fact, the objective reality (e.g. Truth ‘the Sun is at the center’) perceived to be strange and offending commonsense. This is exactly what is happening in computer science (software). The seed causes for the software engineering are such fundamentally 50 years old flawed myths or prejudice. This mistake already cost trillion dollars to world economy. It would cost trillions more, if not exposed.

             Many generations of brilliant researchers wasted their hard work and passionate research efforts for past few decades for expanding the geocentric paradox of software engineering (CBSD in particular). If I fail to expose this mistake, many more generations of young brilliant researchers end up wasting their hard work and passionate research efforts in pursuit of the fool’s errand.

              Even the brilliant minds in the past 350 years such as Newton and Einstein could not have made any useful and lasting contribution to the geocentric paradigm, if the error was not yet exposed. Only possible lasting contribution any one could make to geocentric paradigm was to exposing the flawed seed axioms at its root.

                 If software experts give my under 3 days (i.e. 25 hours), I can provide irrefutable proof backed by repeatable and demonstrable evidence and facts about objective reality.              The problem is wise researchers are full of doubt (scared of investigating the evidence and openly defending the Truth) but the fools and fanatics resorting to personal attacks, spreading FUD (fear, uncertainty and doubt) and humiliating insults without any hesitation.

               Existing state of computer science (software) is a huge scandal (if not fraud). How hard it is to understand this simple fact: If researchers make a fundamental mistake (i.e. rely of flawed axioms), it will have bad consequences. The longer this error is not detected the bad consequences increasing become sever (i.e. many experts saying software engineering is in crisis since 1970s).

             It is shocking that, why software researchers even in the 21st century are unable to understand this simple fact. Their negligence or even incompetence not only cost trillions of dollars to the world economy but also they are wasting their hard work and efforts on fool’s errand (the geocentric paradox of software). Even Newton were to born 150 years earlier, he could not have made any lasting contribution to the geocentric paradox (except may be exposing the error, if he was not prosecuted for heresy).

           Computer Science is conducive to be not just soft-science but can be a hard science. But due to these mistakes 50 years ago, computer science evolved into a fake science (e.g. by blatantly violated “scientific method”). Even the physics was fake science until the error at the root of geocentric paradox was exposed, which led to the formalization of the "scientific method" - Which has been proven (has outstanding track record) and perfected ever since. 

             Such blatant violation of “scientific method” in the dark ages can be justified because there was no proven “scientific method” until 17th century. But what justification is there for software researchers in the 21st century for blatantly violating the “scientific method”, except admitting that they are fake scientists.

             I have been struggling for years to expose this error. I don’t know what to do, particularly the silence of wise software researchers (who are full of doubt and scared to openly support the Truth by investigating the evidence and objective reality). I am getting disparate and helpless, because many other unsolved software problems (e.g. real Artificial Intelligence) would never be solved without realizing the error (for putting software research on the right path).

            Answer to this question (i.e. which planet is at the center?) is objective reality.  Wrong answer to this critical question diverted research efforts into a wrong path. The researchers in the dark ages (i.e. 500 years ago) refused to investigate evidence to discover truth. In fact, many of them actively supported prosecution Galileo and Giordano Bruno for trying to provide evidence to expose the wrong answer. Even the real science ended up as fake science, when seed axioms at the root contradict the objective reality. 

            Answer to this question (i.e. what is the nature and true essence of the CBD of physical products?) is objective reality.  Answer to this question (i.e. what is the nature and essential properties and nature of the physical components?) is objective reality. Knowing the right answers to these critical questions could have prevented research efforts diverting into a wrong path.

        In light of having this kind of knowledge about objective realities (of CBD and components), it is impossible to make foolish mistakes such as defining so called software components by ignoring the objective reality (and also in clear contradiction to the reality). Since the software research efforts were already diverted into wrong path 50 years ago, only way the research efforts can be put on the right path is by discovering the right answers for exposing the wrong answers.

             Their attitude towards Galileo’s efforts to show proof can be summarized as: "I am not going to look through your "telescope", as you call it, because I know the Earth is static (or flat) ... I am not a fool, how dare you to insult my intelligence?" Is this kind of thing acceptable in the 21st century? I have been enduring exactly similar kind of attitude, when I try to provide firsthand experience on real-COP/CBD to designers.

               The researchers even in the 21st century have been refusing to investigate evidence to discover truth (i.e. gain essential knowledge about the objective reality of the CBD & components). In fact, many of them actively contributing to derail my efforts by spreading FUD (Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt). Even I am able to convenience many of their engineers (most of them are full of doubt) while few fanatic skeptics are absolutely sure that I am wrong (how dare he is to dispute great biblical scriptures of software engineering such as “mythical man month” or “no silver bullet). Anyone can observe such epicycles and retrograde motions by standing so called static Earth, but now we know what went wrong. Likewise, the infamous software crisis is the inevitable bad consequences of the wrong path taken by relying on flawed myths 50 years ago.

               It is impossible to allow COP (Component Oriented Programming) for achieving real-CBD (Component Based Design) for software without inventing real-software-components. So, I created world’s first GUI-technology that can create real-software-components for creating real-time data driven graphics intensive web applications. In fact, only our GUI-technologies can address many hard to address visualization problems for IoT and Industrial-IoT. I approached many companies for an opportunity to provide firsthand experience for their software designers by designing and developing their software by assembling real software components.

                Usually after weeks of trying, I get 40 to 50 minutes to present our GUI-technology. In such short time, I need to spend lot of time to overcome prejudice and conformational bias of exiting CBSD paradox. Of course, the silent majority’s doubt is justifiable (but easily susceptible to the FUD), so I am only requesting for an opportunity to provide proof. But few fanatic fools are full of confidence about their flawed perception of reality, so anything that is appear to be contradicting their twisted perception of reality perceived to be a scam or fraud.

               The fanatics within the team have plenty of time (days or weeks) to spread FUD after my presentation to derail any chance for getting an opportunity to provide proof. The problem is, they don’t try to understand the clear and conclusive evidence and reasoning. They won’t give me an opportunity, which can provide first-hand experience with real-COP/CBD. I don’t know, how to fight this kind fanatic fools, if wiser experts are easily succumbing to such foolish FUD and prejudice.

          Any suggestions? Getting an opportunity for demonstrating irrefutable proof backed by evidence is far harder (and 100 time painful) than the pleasure of discovering this kind of error (usually happens by accident but not by design) and many years of my hard work to find multiple irrefutable proofs each is backed by evidence for overcoming my own prejudice and flawed perceptions of existing paradoxical paradigm (I was brainwashed just like anyone else). Without luck, I may fail in this effort due to countless fanatic fools who are so certain of themselves.
