Can anybody help me to study XRD pattern? I had two graph, but unable to explain.
Neeraj, XRD pattern contains wealth of information if properly interpreted. It can give you phases present, crystal structure, size, strain and many other information. The pattern should be identified with the help of powder diffraction standard files (PDF data base) if your sample is unknown. These database may be available at X-ray crystallography labs.
Neeraj..it will be better if you can upload the plots..and also mention what kind of materials you are working with so that specialists in those areas can comment. From the PXRD data, from the position of the peaks you can find the d spacing values by making use of the Bragg's equation. One excel file is attached for your help. Just know your X ray source and insert your peak position. If you already know the single crystal structure then generate the simulated PXRD pattern from the .cif file using any programme like mercury..and then compare both the results. Otherwise you need to model the unit cell and generate a pattern using computational techniques....of which I don't know much.
at first you should install X'pert analysis program in your PC. After some peak modifications, you can search probable phases in your sample from analysis> search-match. The type of compound is very important in X-ray diffraction analysis.
