I do not know the much about cyto-toxicity test for metallic or polymer material? Is the test type different for different material? Also if you are a Material Engineer or Mechanical Engineer, then is is mandatory to collaborate with a medical practitioner who will perform the test? Also is there any formality to be performed before to start a test (Specially in India)?
If you want to use a metallic material as a biomaterial, always it is necessary to do biocompatibility test throughout cytotoxicity assessment, seeding cells on the surface of metallic materials and evaluating theirs proliferation.
Prepare the samples of metallic materials to be evaluated for cytotoxic test taken note of the initial and final physical,mechanical, electrical,chemical and other engineering properties of the prepared samples etching to determine the over effect of the toxic media on the properties of the metals being evaluated. It is very important to conduct an over all micrographic assessments of all the samples being tested.
To verify allergy use the patch test.
To test som material, firt verify with Cell culture, but is not mandatory. Nikel is biocompatible material but kill Cells...
You can introduce litle pieces in Animals too.
You can verify íon relise in Salt water If testing metals.
