Наиболее ранние сведения о системах подобного типа датированы 1150 годом. Математик - изобретатель Бхаскар, из Индии, использовал тангенциально расположенные трубки, в которых наполовину налита вода или ртуть, Рис.1.

Соотношение диаметра внутреннего и внешнего колес является принципиально важным, как и длина, диаметр трубок и скорость вращения ротора. От скорости зависит центробежная сила, которая также влияет на положение жидкости в трубках.

In contrast to pumped storage power plants, RK-Batteries are compact (see figure) and can be installed directly in enterprises, whether they are consumers or producers of energy. This will allow more efficient use of existing power lines and significantly reduce the load peaks of the entire electric network. Given these opportunities, the expensive plans currently available to expand European networks may be revised and reduced to a cheaper form. Thus, the large-scale introduction of kinetic storage carries a huge not only technical, but also economic potential.
