I have meshed surface parts in Ansys, however the analysis type was 3D and then obtained orphan mesh. and in Abaqus I have selected the part type to be 2D-Planner.
is this true or Abaqus still solve in 3D.

I may have found a solution. Please check the folllowing website and the answer from a user below:
"In Workbench Mechanical select any object in the loads & boundary condition section. Then choose Tools -> Write Input File. Go ahead and write the file to a folder of your choosing with the dat extension. The format will really be in cdb format so once done you can change the files extension."
