I have found with difficulty few books on academic research writing such as writing a scientific journal paper, or writing a dissertation or thesis in the field of engineering. Unfortunately, most of the available books are general and I believe books should be targeting specific fields with examples in the field.
So far this is the best book
" Writing for science and engineering-2nd Edition"
however it does not have answers to many questions.
For example, engineering is a mix of both physics and advanced mathematics. There are lots of equations and I could not find a book that explains the difference in using displayed equations or in text equations. I could not also find a guide on equation punctuation, usage of equations in literature review and/or introduction chapter(s).
