I am working on a perpendicular parallel junction solar cell wherein the light incidence direction is parallel to the junction plane as shown in the attached file. I wonder if there is any method or package (like AFORS-HET, PC1D,...) leading to simulate this cell and get its I-V characteristic.

In a research work bu us we analysed such structures where the light is incident parallel to the p-n junction where the collection of the generated electron- hole pairs will be lateral. The structure was intended to increase the conversion efficiency of solar cells made from heavily doped silicon material which has small diffusion length. We introduce both an analytical solution and numerical solution which is based on TCAD tools.
