I am raising a question on a thought provoking idea that is probably addressed differently by each different person, culture and civilization ...'cause it is somewhat that deals with intangibles ...
Legacy is often thought of as something valuable that is received by someone from another person, who has passed away. Sometimes, these are concrete items, such as personal property or money. When viewed more generally, a legacy can include stories, traditions, and other intangibles that are transmitted from one person to their family, friends, and community. A legacy is ultimately a way of commemorating someone who has passed. The Seeker desires an approach to bridge the gap between life and death, so that people have a meaningful way to secure their legacy for future generations.
I believe that it is the duty of every human being to pass on his or her legacy to one, who one feels is worthy. This will ensure that what we know or what we have learn t, is protected and further work can be done on it. Everything should be secured in a soft and a hard copy. It is easier said than done because we have so many things in our mind that we do not find everything worth noting down. But somewhere down the line, it will be helpful for our next generations.
One possibility would be to use the Internet. Presently, blog sites and social net working systems already have abilities useful for keeping legacies in limited forms at least. However, these have not been developed for special purposes of preserving legacies, so that failure or stopping of work on the side of providers causes loss of what have been stored. There are also many kinds of things that cannot presently be stored in the form of computer memory. Therefore, a special, international, non-profit organization, as well as a wide range of studies on memorizing and classifying a lot of things on the Internet, would be necessary effectively to keep legacies of all kinds.
