I am planning an experiment in which there will be a large protein (~65 kDa) and a small 8-mer peptide in an aqueous solution. I want to monitor and quantitate the two over time. I will use SDS/PAGE to monitor the large protein, but would like any suggestions you have for the 8-mer peptide? I realize that HPLC will do it, but I am interested in alternatives. I could label the peptide but would prefer to use a native peptide if possible. The 8-mer peptide "may be" degraded over time, so I want to monitor the full-length peptide over time and quantittate how much is present.
