Well the sample that we have in hand is very less and cannot be procured in very high quantity. Can anybody suggest a method to segregate it for further bioassays? My samples are proteinaceous secretions.
Hi gary quite new to the field and it will take some time to get the flair of the work. I am trying to see different pharmaceutical activities of the fractions (purified). Would you be kind enough to let me know which column and from which company i can order. A little more information for you..we do have a Waters HPLC system but it is an analytical one and not preparative...
Hi Nilardri, for a 100 uL size sample an analytical HPLC may work fine with the right column, I would contact Water's tech support for advice on column selection for your application. There have been a lot of advances in the field since I last used a HPLC.
Hi Gary thanks for the advice i already contacted the waters people but they are taking a long time to respond. I would be happy if you can suggest me any literature that can help me look around the columns. But i have a doubt: can i purify the different fractions in an analytical HPLC? I am working with venom of some invertebrates. If possible can you let me knoe if i can use some of the merck colums as they supply faster here. Thank s man for all the above information.
Not familiar with the Merck columns, but you could contact their tech support and ask. In the past the tech support for Vydac HPLC columns was really good, especially for methods development, I would contact them; http://www.discoverysciences.com/ServiceandSupport.aspx
Here is another manufacturer with a lot of resources including user generated data for specific samples, look under technical library for the full application library: http://www.imtaktusa.com/library/technical_information/user_generated/
