I honestly don't understand what the problem is. Take 1 mg and dilute in 1-10 ml of solvent, then take an aliquot (for example, 10 μl) and dilute again in 1-10 ml of solvent. Evaporate the solvent from the excess fatty acid solution under vacuum or in a stream of inert gas.
