In toxicity tests against insects and also molecules identification, I would like to know how to prepare aqueous extraction and analyze obtained extracts without altering chemical composition of the constituents?
The process of extraction is depends on your plant . i means you can extract your plant with different solvents lie, ethanol, methanol, acetone, chloroform....etc. After that you can do fractional extraction for separation of compound which you are interested for application. The separated compound you can identify by GC-MS or NMR.
A prepared solvent extract subject to rotary evaporation for concentrating or you can go for lyophilization process to obtain powdered form of your extract sample.
Hope so this information may helpful for your research work.
Drying Patil is right. Aqueous extraction can be prepared with different methods, it usually dried with frez dryer. For cytotoxic assays the use of fractions is more accurate than crude extract.
