How to prepare a solution saturated with H2S?
I am looking to prepare a NACE Solution ‘A’ which is saturated with H2S in order to do sulfide stress cracking tests. I am planning to put the solution in an autoclave and pressurize the system with H2S gas at a certain pressure and close the system and allow sometime for the solution to absorb the H2S and the pressure drop, then re-pressurize the system again and wait for the pressure drop and keep doing this process until the partial pressure of the H2S in the solution become equal to the pressure of the H2S gas inside the autoclave.
The question is which pressure should I pressurize the system with H2S gas in order to reach saturation.
