Please explain with calculation
You can buy crystal forms of ammonium acetate from Sigma. It's so much easier to just calculate the amount of ammonium acetate crystal you need and then pH it after you've made it into a solution.
Hi,
As Jennifer says, you can use ammonium acetate (CAS number 631-61-8) Sigma-Aldrich
Molecular weight = 77.08
So, for 1M ammonium acetate you need 77.08 g to prepare 1 L solution.
Weigh 77.08 g ammonium acetate and dissolve it in 800 mL milliQ water/ room temperature (20-25℃)
Then, adjust pH to the desire value using acetic acid or ammonium hydroxide, as required
Finally, add water to complete 1 L.
What is your target pH?
This might be useful depending on your target pH
