I am currently working on preparing activated carbon from a carbon precursor using KOH and NaOH as activating agents. After the impregnation process, when I dry the solution, the material forms a hard carbon layer at the bottom of the beaker(as seen in the picture below), which is difficult to remove and does not result in a fine powder.

I am looking for suggestions to avoid this issue and obtain a uniform fine powder after drying. Are there any specific drying methods, impregnation techniques, or adjustments to process parameters that can help?

Thank you for your insights and advice!
