I f I want to observe the movement of the water of the cerebrospinal fluid, how to pabel the water? 2H? Is there any tracer which could mark the water moving through blood-brain barrier?
for clinical setting you can use MRI method particularly Phase contrast techniques. This technique probe CSF water and not invasive and also doesn't require tracers. However, it is only limited to aqueduct area where CSF velocity is so fast enough to be detected by Phase contrast MRI. alternatively, you can use H217O as an exogenous tracer which can be detected by MRI. but this tracer is quiet expensive and limited to in vivo studies.
