For an HPLC System, spectrum bandwidth mentioned as 8 nm. How to calculate this spectrum bandwidth?

Most of the HPLC Brochures/Specifications sheet mentions 'spectrum bandwidth' as 8 nm. But, how to calculate this one. Please suggest.
