Hi, I have started working with the two groups having characterized the small size of animal samples (N=5-7 animals each group) due to the limitation of the availability of samples. I got some variations at nucleotides and amino acids level which are affecting the functions of the gene but now, because of the limitation of the small sample size. Please suggest me any publications (genomics/genetics).

Each animal group means populations or it is more like phylogenetic? If they are populations it is going to be difficult to give arguments but it is more as a comparative analysis between species you can check if the variation within group is big or small. If it is little you can give the argument that you are covering the variation from the group. If it is big you have serious problems. You also have to consider if you are covering the range of distribution of your species in each group. I hope it helps!

It is not worrying, however you can use image processing tool box in MATLAB. Small size of data samples is not a problem for Bayesian parametric modelling framework.
Patricia Landaverde ma'am , I have got a big difference between the groups based on 5-7 samples. the difference is based on SNPs (which are already tagged as SNPs in same species but other territory). So, Can I say this conserved changes (at the same positions and in same nucleotide as reported) as SNP?

If you don't have within difference or if the within difference is smaller than the difference between and you have a good geographical representation of your samples even with 5-7 yes. If the difference within is as big as between or you did not have a good geographical representation, I will not take the risk
