How to isolate and culture mouse mesenchymal stem cells from bone marrow?

I would like to isolate and culture mouse mesenchymal stem cells from bone marrow, in order to evaluate the function of a gene in both WT and KO mice in three different lineages (chondrocytes, adipocytes, osteoclasts). I found two different protocols:
