I am trying to simulate 1000 particles in a microchip. The adjustable parameters in the injection part of discrete phase model (transient) are flow rate(kg/s) and start/stop time. How can I set these parameters to reach 1000 particles in the injection?
Which type of injection mode are you using? In order to define 1000 particles, you need to use group, surface, or file injection mode. You can find the necessary information in a fluent user guide.
Considering the number of particles you want to define and assuming that you want particles to be at specific locations, I would suggest file injection mode. You need to write a file including the initial positions and relative information for the model. The file needs to have the following form: ((x y z u v w diameter temperature mass-flow) injection0:ID )
You can search online for the file injection and learn how to write it and how to set it in DPM.
