Hihi,
I'm working on a gel formulation with chitosan for transdermal studies, but I’ve been running into some issues incorporating it into the Carbopol gel.
Right now, I’m dissolving the chitosan in a mix of citric acid and ascorbic acid, but when I try to slowly add it to the Carbopol gel, it starts to separate and ends up forming this weird sponge-like texture. If I try neutralizing the chitosan solution with NaOH before adding it, the chitosan just degrades and turns into a yellow clump instead of blending smoothly into the gel.
Any ideas or tips on how to get the chitosan to incorporate properly without separating or breaking down? Would really appreciate any advice!
Looking forward to your thoughts
