Hello!

I have a methodological question and I hope someone can help me. I collected data via an online survey with a sample size of 2600 (N = 2600). Initially, I aimed to examine the effect of birth order on a dependent variable. However, after cleaning my data, I discovered that I have responses from twins (N = 30), and I am uncertain about how to handle them. I see two options: either discard their responses since I hadn't initially intended to collect data from twins, or explore their influence as it could provide valuable insights.

The challenge with the latter option is determining how to treat the responses from twins. Although I can identify the birth order of twins (e.g., firstborn twins compared to their siblings if applicable), I am unsure whether a non-twin firstborn should be considered equivalent to firstborn twins. I have reviewed relevant literature, from classical works by Adler to more recent papers, but I am still uncertain about the best approach to managing twin responses.
