if you used pFastbac use DH10bac from thermofisher/invitrogene ; as it is quite a lot of work (and of time) to get and to control the recombinant baculo that it is worth to use commercial competente cells (I would not recommand to make DH10bac competente cells yourself from the original competente cells... I think that invitrogen sell only the competente cells not the strain) you can use half of what is recommended if you are short in funding...
