I currently have all the protists cited above developping in Lennox Lysogeny Broth in presence of bacteria.

Many groups work with similar protists in axeny obtained from libraries and fed on a standard media, but my goal is a bit different. I wish to get rid of the unknown pool of bacteria currently present in my media and replace them by one defined strain of bacteria in order to feed my protists. Thus, the system is similar to what I already have in culture, but with a different pool of bacteria.

What I am looking for is a protocol for the first step of this process, which is getting rid of the unknown pool of bacteria. A protocol giving which antibiotics, which concentrations to apply etc. to get rid of these bacteria, not impacting the protists dynamics.

Is what you suggested to read a way to let me know that such protocol do not exist and that each researcher needs to find one adapted to its own project?

There are a lot of studies on axenic and monoxenic cultivation of free living protists, especially ciliates.
