I am interesting how to find amounts of compounds of drugs or free pharmacopeias?
For example I have some drug "vitaros" and know that it contains
Purified water
Ethanol, anhydrous
Ethyl laurate
Hydroxypropyl guar gum
Dodecyl-2-N,N-dimethylaminopropionate hydrochloride
Potassium dihydrogen phosphate
Sodium hydroxide, for pH adjustment
Phosphoric acid, for pH adjustment
compounds, how I can find which are the amount of these compounds or % part?
It is Simple, Download US, British or European pharmacopoeias. you can get some of these monographs in www.4shared.com. Then look for how to for assay for active compound of interest in the drug. You can as well determine the contents of other components in the drug.
Yes, AM Adeosun is right. We in India look for IP or Indian Pharmacopeia as well as US and British Pharmacopeia for such info.
